Registering with the Practice

If you live within our practice area, you are able to register as a patient. Please telephone  or visit reception for details. You will be asked to make an appointment with our Health Care Assistant at your earliest convenience to complete the registration process.

Appointment to see the doctor

Book in advance

We offer appointments for non urgent cases that can be booked up to 4 weeks in advance. We endeavour that on the day you book your appointment you can see a GP of your choice within 14 days for non urgent matters.

Telephone consultations

We offer daily telephone consultations that can be booked in advance,  with the doctor for matters that can be dealt with over the phone. For example, to discuss test results, in some cases medication reviews etc.

Book on the day

Appointments are available for patients who have an urgent medical problem that requires medical attention that day. If all these appointments have been taken then you will be placed on the triage list. Later that day the on call doctor will telephone you and organise review as appropriate.

House calls

House calls can be arranged for patients who are rendered house bound because of a medical condition and travel to the surgery will be detrimental to health. Problems with transport is not a valid reason to request a home visit. We ask that where possible the house call request is received before 10.30 a.m.

Practice Nurses, Health Care Assistant and Phlebotomists

Appointments can be pre booked up to 4 weeks in advance.

Cancellations/DNA policy

Please let the surgery know as soon as soon as possible if you cannot keep your appointment. This will allow us to offer the appointment to another patient.
As appointments are in short supply if an appointment is made and you do not attend, a letter will be sent to you from the practice. Repeated missed appointments will force the practice to ask that you register with another practice. Missed appointments are a waste of the practice time and an inconvenience to other patients.
An appointment is for one person only. If more than one member of your family needs to be seen, please book an extra appointment. If you have several problems please book a double appointment to help us run to time.

Temporary Residents

Where appointments are available we are happy to provide necessary treatment to temporary residents in Penarth who do not live in the Cardiff and Vale area. Patients who are resident outside of the UK will be required to pay a fee for the consultation.
